Mesaplexx is dedicated to delivering a superior mobile user experience by using HTS RF solutions to deliver significantly higher levels of voice and data network performance than are provided today by conventional RF components and solutions.Cryogenic cooling uses extremely cold temperatures (around -200°C) to enable these HTS components to conduct electricity without electrical resistance. Without resistance, electrical components perform at much higher levels. The temperatures used also reduce the amount of thermal noise in the system, thus making any low level received signals "easier to see". The effects of these two phenomena are combined in Mesaplexx’s products to deliver substantial performance improvements together with extreme reliability.
It is well known that Cryocooling of an amplifier (LNA) can greatly reduces the noise figure of the base station giving a significant receiver performance improvement over the best conventional solutions. When this is combined with the excellent selectivity and very low noise temperature of an HTS RF filter, that sensitivity performance can be enhanced by the blocking of out of band noise and interference that can cause unwanted intermodulation products and desensitisation of the receiver. The Network Operator may also be able to free up previously non-revenue generating spectrum that had been allocated as inter-system guard bands.
The latest studies and field tests are also proving that Cryocooled components in a receiver chain can radically improve the sensitivity of the receiver in a cellular network, the actual improvement being much greater than a simple comparison of the differences in noise figures would imply. Again the improvement in receiver sensitivity can lead directly to capacity improvements in WCDMA networks, and improved indoor coverage can be really significant, especially in high frequency cellular systems.
Mesaplexx HTS RF solutions can achieve significant reductions in dropped calls (20% - 65%), blocked calls (12% to 26%), improved cell site coverage (40%) and data throughput (100%) leading to significant savings by reduced number of required base stations and very significant revenue enhancement by improved Quality of Service (QoS) and capacity.
Existing networks can easily be retrofitted with Mesaplexx products. Alternatively, green field roll outs can be replanned using Mesaplexx products and achieve a significant reduction in the numbers of required cell sites.
